50 % INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
70 % INTERNATIONAL FACULTY

International and independent, CONFLUENCE is located in Lyon, a European metropole with a strong international influence. Lyon is connected by high-speed rail to many of France’s major cities and is also accessible by train from neighboring European countries. The Lyon International Airport offers direct ights to many European capitals and is easily reached from around the world through hourly connecting ights from Paris.
At the center of a large redevelopment project between the Rhone and the Saone rivers and surrounded by cultural facilities and important industrial actors from research and higher education, the Con uence is at the heart of a dynamic network and acts as a real cultural hub in a unique, stimulating and inspiring environment for teachers and researchers from the entire world.

Teaching at the CONFLUENCE is in French and English. The bilingual nature of the school prepares students for the reality of their future professional life and is the key to turning the school into an international platform of architectural education.

Apart from its strategic geographical location, three essential qualities give CONFLUENCE its international standing:

-a constant renewal of the internationally renowned faculty -the demanding standards for student recruitment, from a global pool of candidates -the creation of a network of international partners with institutions that are recognized both locally and globally. It has already started exchange programms with many schools such as : Muenster, Lichstentien, Llubjana, China, Taiwan, Ann Arbor, Oklahoma and McGill.
CONFLUENCE possesses a global network that links it to schools on every continent. This network was made possible by relationships created through the personal and professional histories of its founders (USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Pakistan, Tunisia, Taiwan, Russia, Slovenia, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Poland, South Africa).
This network is certainly also made possible by the experience and relationships that Odile Decq has developed with many countries along her career as a practitioner and teacher. Driven by this rich and fruitful experience, she wishes to share it with students at the CONFLUENCE by integrating it as a specificity of the school.
